What is the best way to accessorize and decorate a rented space with off-white walls and mossy green carpets?

I have a black leather modern lounge - the black and white is so stark and needs some other color - i was thinking perhaps a tropical theme with a nice green, or do you have any good ideas???? I will buy rug, other furnishings and I’m very artistic and could paint some canvases - just need to be inspired with a good idea - or perhaps you’ve seen something that looked WOW!
