Jean asked:

My friend ran away from home and now she’s back and her parents are suing her because it’s illegal to run away in virginia and I just wanted to know if it’s child abuse to be locked out of your house purposely for an hour and a half?

The garage is not heated, or furnished.
Thanks for not helping at all.

No, it’s not child abuse. Sometimes, people have to put up with discomfort and/or inconvenience in their lives, and that’s all it amounts to. I am very curious, however, about the alleged lawsuit you mentioned. Are you sure you have that right? David S

It`s not child abuse as long as you leave a bowl of water and half a dozen crackers on the front doorstep ! The law in Virginia requires you do that once a day …….minimum !

Check Statute QFV33/R454-07v of the Virginia civil code ……….. Connie Goosebung
