Help! Someone visited my house the other night, bringing with them a terrible smell of cat urine. We didn’t want to embarrass him, so we didn’t say anything, but now our sitting room stinks of urine. He must have brought it in on his clothes, because he smelled from the front door, and we can’t find the source of the smell - the whole room just reeks, like it’s in the air.

We’re getting desparate - does anyone know how to get rid of it?

We’ve washed every soft furnishing/rug in there, and every hard surface too!

I just bought some new furniture that is red, and the dye is getting on my clothes. It is a suede-type material. I asked the store manager about it, and he said I’m the first to bring it to his attention. He went and got a Kleenex and rubbed a couch on the showroom and saw for himself that it comes off. I was going to get some Scotchguard and spray the couches with that to prevent stains, but I’m wondering if that will also help seal in the dye?

I have never vacuuumed my furniture before. When I tried to use an attachment, the hose ended up sucking some of the fabric up, so I quit trying to vacuum the furniture. How can I keep it from getting so dusty?

Mom in Okla asked:

I have 2 kids and they have almost ruined my leather furniture! I have tried the cleaner from the furniture store but it didn’t help. Is there something else I can try or do I need to have it professionally cleaned? Does anyone know approximately how much it costs to have a leather sofa and loveseat professionally cleaned? I’ve only had it for 2 years and it was expensive so I don’t want to replace it. It’s not the shiny kind of leather, it is the softer kind.

Jungle Girl asked:

Our kitchen floor is ceramic tile. My husband wanted to spray Lysol but accidentally grabbed Pledge furniture polish instead and sprayed that. Ever since then the floor is super slippery. I’ve mopped and mopped and mopped but it’s still slippery. How can I get the furniture polish off the tile?

I finally sold me house and found a Condo I really like. The only thing really holding me back is the stale smell of smoke….everywhere. Apparently the former owner was a heavy smoker. It’s in the carpet and her furnishings which still need to be removed. Haven’t made an offer yet as I’m trying to learn whether it’s even possible to get the smell out of the duct work, walls, carpets and other fixtures. Wondering how much it will cost to do this. Can you help me?
