I don’t believe in having cats declawed, but I would still like to have nice furniture. Is there maybe something that can be sprayed on the furniture that deters them from scratching it, yet doesn’t damage the furniture?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

i’ve had a flea infestation for a couple of months, used flea spray and spot on on the 2 cats, and sprayed the house with a can of the home flea killer, including our beds (even though it said to only use on cat bedding)… and we’re still getting bit!

my son’s only 3 and i don’t want to keep on saturating his bed with products. i have a number of questions so i’ll number them for easy/specific answering:

1)how to remove fleas from matresses, duvets and pillows? duvet won’t fit in machine, and taking to dry cleaners = hassle, so am i best chucking them and buying new? the expense! 2)what about the bedding (duvet covers, pillow cases) should i just hot wash and disinfect them?
3)clothing and other bed linen stored in the room - do i have to hot wash everything i own? as surely my clothes would shrink? maybe use disinfectant in wash everytime i do a wash? is disinfectant even effective at killing fleas/eggs/larvae?
4)would a flea bomb/fog do the whole house, all furnishings, curtains and clothes and avoid the need to wash absolutely everything?
5)my vaccum cleaner isn’t the best in the world and is bagless so i can’t throw away the bag, what implications will this have?
6)any other tips/considerations?

sorry for the length and depth of the question, its just im on a low income and want to be totally effective in the treatment so i don’t have to keep doing it and paying over and over!
