Lily asked:

The sellers indicated that they were keeping “various personal items” but they were selling the property furnished. Are the pictures on the wall considered furniture or personal items?

Talk to your agent. Unless the pictures were excluded in the contract as personal items, they should stay Clueless

    Could be argued either way
Smart buyer would have clarified what those personal items were before the sale chatsplas

you are buying a house that is completely furnished? unless stipulated in the contract, yes, what you see is what you get
the personal items should be listed as not included the term is ambiguous and they may end up taking everything because they deem it personal tro

Normally wall pictures are not included in the sale of a property. Normally upscale properties are sold with pictures and other furnishings.

If the pictures are included in the sale they would be listed in the sales contract.

Therefore you should make an inspection of the items for sale to insure that you know what you are getting and what is to be taken.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

hopefully you have a realtor (who can check with their attorney) or a lawyer who is walking thru this deal. The items were supposed to be listed specifically as to what would be removed from the home. And it depends on the worth of those pictures. Could it be that they look expensive but aren’t? Were the pictures the selling point of the home? Some people get attached to things and you have to buy them individually from the other person to get them. If the pictures were worth something then both sides would have to battle it out in court. Someone has to step up or step down. Can you buy replacements for those pictures? sophieb

If you want anything that is not nailed down, then be sure it is specifically mentioned, in writing, in the sales contract.

Verbal promises are meaningless in a real estate contract. Vague terminology like, “furnishings included” inevitably lead to disputes. Mr Placid
