I am planning to visit Bangalore soon for several months. I want to rent a safe, modern, 2 Bedroom apartment ( not too costly); The apartment need not be inside City. It could be anywhere within 20-30 kms from the City. Any suggestions how to select a good aparrtment will be appreciated.

The only restrictions are the navy blue leather couch and the carpet which is a light grey. There are no windows so I don’t want it to look too small or have the color be too overwhelming. Any suggestions? I thought maybe a yellow or orange type of color but I can’t really decide!

the houses are rented out to contractors who come into town to work. they are owned by an older couple.
I am only cleaning between tenants. But some of the houses are really dirty and require alot of cleaning. For example, some are upholstery, some are baseboards, window seals, door trim, and some are even inside and out of kitchen cabinets.

If you have a council flat are there restrictions on what you can do in terms of furnishing and decorating it and that?
Not basic things like the sofa, tables, dining. I wanted to change the toilet. Will that be illegal to change?

Is there such a thing as a recliner/armchair that is both comfortable and stylish?

Sophie asked:

I am just furnishing a small Victorian terraced house that I bought recently and can’t afford everything at once but meanwhile really need a good, comfortable chair in which to relax. I don’t want to buy just for the sake of getting ’something’ but would like to add later. However, all comfortable armchairs/recliners look so old fashioned and boring. Can anyone suggest where I might find a contemporary looking armchair that would fit in with how I have decorated so far; Straw coloured walls; recess walls next to fireplace covered with a darker hessian (sp?) wooden cladding over the chimney brest; a black and chrome focal gas fire (one of those that is flueless and fits on the wall) quite eye catching! laminated floor board type floor. Modern lamps; that’s about it so far … Yes, the house is Victorian but somehow a modern and mellow decor matches my mood at his time in my life!
